Kerri Luciani
Kerri Luciani has been living on the Sunshine Coast since 1933. Her passion for 30 years was all about beads, gemstones & finding the perfect balance in making her beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.
About 3 years ago, a friend asked her if she wanted to learn about rusting metal and she jumped at the chance to learn something new. Working with recycled steel she is still incorporating beads, found objects, and driftwood into her work. You can tell it’s a new passion for her when you talk to her about the process & the stories behind some of the whimsical pieces.
“I hope my pieces will make you smile & bring you as much joy as they do when I create them” ~ Kerri

The metal is recycled steel from various parts of North America. Each piece is designed on a computer & cut with a plasma cutter. For ornaments there is a hole made with a drill press, then a Dremel sander is used to remove any burrs or sharp edges. All metal pieces are then cleaned with vinegar & water and then dried. Next, they are sprayed with a non-toxic, 3 part acid spray. It takes approximately 3 hours to dry each side between sprays. Finally, they are sprayed with a sealant to protect them from the elements. The final step is bending & creating all the wonderful pieces you see here.
All the artwork can be used inside for home decor or functional pieces – such as holding vases, candles, mail and they are a lovely addition to your garden.
